Spay/Neuter is a surgical procedure. Surgery, no matter how routine or safe it is, carries the risk of complication up to and including death. Trappers and Rescuers must have a plan, both operationally and financially, to deal with any life threatening surgical complications outside of SCC operating hours.
You must keep a current phone number and email address with us. Failure to respond to texts, calls or emails will result in your removal from our network as we must be able to receive timely communication.
Dropping off a Cat for Surgery
-All surgery is scheduled through Cat Solutions 305 via the Meow Max app.
-NEVER remove someone else’s cats from a shelf.
-Arrival time is 7:45am. If you have an appointment and you are having difficulty getting to the clinic on time you MUST text the Street Cat Clinic business number by 8:00am and let us know what is going on. If you fail to do this we will cancel your appointments and call in those that are on standby.
-This service is for outdoor cats that will be released back outdoors.
-Check for an ear tip before bringing the cat to us.
-All cats get vaccines (FVRCP and rabies), deparasitation (selamectin) and an ear tip.
-Do not withhold food.
-Please use canned food whenever possible. Putting a bowl of dry kibble in the trap makes a very large mess when we go to take your cat out of the trap.
-Place your trap on the second or third shelf of any rack of shelves.
-Place the trap long ways!
-You must line the trap with thick newspaper or cardboard to prevent injury to the cat’s toes. A wee pad is great, but not mandatory.
-A transfer cage is acceptable. If you are borrowing one from us, provided courtesy of Cat Solutions 305, you MUST disinfect it BEFORE AND AFTER use. There is diluted bleach available for your use.
-Find the paperwork in the black file basket that corresponds to the shelf number that you placed your cat on.
-The shelf # on the paper, clipboard and shelf pole all need to match.
-The wrong paperwork on the wrong shelf will get your cat automatically declined. We do not have the time to try to figure out what you meant.
-Never cross out the shelf number and rewrite it. There is paperwork for every spot on the shelf. Each paper matches a spot that day.
-Place the paper on the clipboard and hang on the corresponding hook.
-Fill in your Trapper ID and fill out the red TNR box.
-A missing Trapper ID will get your cat automatically declined. Without the Trapper ID we can not move forward with surgery because if there is an emergency we will not know who to call.
-Our ear tips are standard size. They are meant to be visible from a distance so the cat is not trapped repeatedly. Sometimes they come out a big larger or a bit smaller because we are humans. Requests for small ear tips will not be honored. Comments about ear tips that are slightly larger will not be heard or discussed. If comments become consistent we will kindly remove you from our network.
-Remove your trap cover and place one of our red covers from the large red bin on your cat.
-Take your cover home with you
-Grab a snack and head out.
Picking up After Surgery
-Limit propping of the back door to only the amount of time you are physically carrying traps outside
-This will prevent cats from accidentally escaping and conserve the air conditioning
-SCC sends out a text when cats are ready for pickup. We recommend that you wait until we send out a text before picking up your cats. If you come in before the text is sent, your cat has a green cover and they are bright, alert and responsive you can elect to take them at your own risk. Please do not ask us if your cats are ready via text or in person.
-Remove the green trap cover and put it in the large green laundry bin. We wash these daily.
-Please DO NOT discard or take any green trap covers.
-If you borrowed a transfer cage please clean it with soapy water and then disinfect it with bleach. Then put it back on the rack.
-Wipe down your TNR shelf after you remove your cat with soapy water then bleach.
-Clean rags and soapy water bottles and dilute bleach bottles are available next to the sink
-SCC is not responsible for unlocked traps or carriers. Trappers are 100% responsible for checking that their traps and carriers are in good working order, closed and zip tied.
-Take your folded photocopied paperwork - this is your medical record. Requests for medical records take a minimum of 2-3 weeks and take time away from spay/neuter so please take your medical record! Check the “Oops bin“ if you forgot your paperwork.
-Place the clipboard back on the corresponding shelf hook

La esterilización/castración es un procedimiento quirúrgico. Toda cirugía, por muy rutinaria o segura que sea, conlleva el riesgo de complicaciones, incluso la muerte. Los tramperos y rescatistas deben contar con un plan, tanto operativo como financiero, para hacer frente a cualquier complicación quirúrgica que ponga en peligro la vida del animal fuera del horario de atención de SCC.
Debe mantener un número de teléfono y una dirección de correo electrónico actualizados. Si no responde a los mensajes de texto, llamadas o correos electrónicos, será eliminado de nuestro grupo, ya que necesitamos poder comunicarnos con usted de forma oportuna.
Entrega de un gato para cirugía
-Todas las cirugías se programan a través de Cat Solutions 305 mediante la aplicación Meow Max.
-NUNCA retire los gatos de otra persona de la estantería.
-El ingreso es a las 7:45 a. m. Si tiene una cita y va a llegar tarde, DEBE enviar un mensaje de texto al número de teléfono de Street Cat Clinic antes de las 8:00 a. m. e informarnos de la situación. Si no lo hace, cancelaremos sus citas y llamaremos a quienes estén en lista de espera.
-Este servicio es para gatos callejeros que serán soltados.
-Verifique si el gato tiene un corte en la oreja antes de traerlo.
-Todos los gatos CES reciben la vacuna FVRCP, la vacuna de la rabia, desparasitacion (selamectin) y un corte en la oreja izquierda.
-El gato NO tiene que ayunar antes de la esterilizacion.
-Por favor, utilice comida enlatada siempre que sea posible. Poner un cuenco de pienso seco en la jaula trampa ensucia mucho cuando vamos a sacar al gato de la jaula trampa.
-Coloque la jaula trampa en el segundo o tercer estante de cualquier estantería.
-¡Coloque la jaula a lo largo!
-La jaula trampa debe tener papel de periódico grueso o cartón en el fondo para evitar lesiones en las patas. Un empapador es ideal, pero no obligatorio.
-Se acepta una jaula de transporte. Si toma prestada una jaula de Cat Solutions 305, DEBE desinfectarla ANTES Y DESPUÉS de usarla. Hay lejía diluida disponible para su uso.
-En la cesta de archivos negra de la estanteria, encontrara la ficha medica que corresponde al número de estante donde colocó a su gato.
-El número de estante en la ficha medica, el portapapeles y el poste del estante deben coincidir.
-Si la ficha medica no esta rellenada o se rellena de forma incorrect o se pone en el portapateles o la estanteria incorrecta, su cita queda automaticamente cancelada. No tenemos tiempo para intentar averiguar qué quiso decir.
-Nunca tache el número de estante en la ficha medica y lo escriba un numero distinto. Cada ficha corresponde a un lugar específico ese día.
-Complete su ID de capturador y complete la casilla roja de CES.
-Si falta el ID de capturador, no podemos proceder con la cirugía. Si hay una emergencia, no sabremos a quién llamar.
-Nuestras marcas en la oreja son de tamaño estándar. Están diseñadas para ser visibles desde la distancia para que el gato no sea capturado repetidamente. A veces salen un poco más grandes o un poco más pequeñas porque somos humanos. No se aceptarán solicitudes de cortes de oreja pequeños. No se tendrán en cuenta ni se discutirán los comentarios sobre los cortes de oreja ligeramente más grandes. Si los comentarios persisten, le eliminaremos de nuestra red.
-Coloque la ficha medica en el portapapeles y cuélguelo en el gancho correspondiente del estante.
-Retire su cubierta de la jaula y coloque una de nuestras cubiertas rojas que encontrara en el contenedor rojo grande. Llévese su cubierta a casa.
-Tome un refrigerio y váyase tranquilo.
Recogida después de la cirugía
-Limite el tiempo que mantiene la puerta trasera abierta al tiempo estrictamente necesario para el transporte de las jaulas al exterior. Esto evitará que los gatos se escapen accidentalmente y ayudará a conservar el aire acondicionado.
-Street Cat Clinic envía un mensaje de texto cuando los gatos están listos para ser recogidos. Le recomendamos que espere a que le enviemos el mensaje de texto antes de recoger a sus gatos. Si llega antes de que se envíe el mensaje, su gato tiene una cubierta verde y está despierto, alerta y reactivo, puede optar por llevárselo bajo su propia responsabilidad. Por favor, no nos pregunte si sus gatos están listos por mensaje de texto ni en persona.
-Retire la cubierta verde de la jaula y colóquela en el contenedor grande de ropa verde. Las lavamos a diario.
-Por favor, NO deseche ni se lleve ninguna cubierta verde de jaula.
-Si tomó prestada una jaula de transporte, límpiela con agua jabonosa y luego desinféctela con lejía. Luego, colóquela de nuevo en el estante.
-Limpie su estante de TNR después de retirar a su gato con agua jabonosa y luego con lejía.
-Hay trapos limpios, botellas de agua jabonosa y botellas de agua con lejía disponibles junto al lavabo.
-SCC no se hace responsable de las jaulas o transportines sin cerrar. Los responsables de la captura son 100% responsables de comprobar que sus jaulas y transportines estén en buen estado, cerrados y con bridas.
-Llévese su historial médico fotocopiado y doblado. Las solicitudes de historiales médicos tardan un mínimo de 2 a 3 semanas y restan tiempo a las esterilizaciones/castraciones, ¡así que por favor, llévese su historial médico! Revise el contenedor de "Objetos perdidos" si olvidó sus documentos.
-Vuelva a colocar el portapapeles en el gancho correspondiente del estante.
